View Full Version : The REAL year on the Island

Here's my theory about the REAL year on the island.

I came to this idea after asking how the plane can be on the bottom of the ocean floor and also be on the island....how can a sailboat sink at sea and also get stranded on an island...how can the Black Rock be on the ocean floor and also be on the island.

It's because the island and the bottom of the ocean floor are the same place...just separated by time. The REAL time on the island is way, way back in time when there was an island...an island that has since eroded and is at the bottom of the ocean floor.

That's why no one can in the modern day can find the island...it doesn't exist anymore.

My theory is that the Hanso Foundation was doing research on time travel's relationship with fate and was conducting experiments on the island (extremely secret location since in today's time, it's at the bottom of the ocean floor). The Black Rock, Desmond's sailboat, the plane...all of then get an instance transported back in time. It's the plane survivor's belief that it's 2004, but compared to the outside world it's really hundreds of thousands of years ago.

Bizarre, I know! Thoughts?

Sure, why not. As long as your theory doesn't include everyone needing a constant,
I'm all for it.

Hahahahahaha.

Seriously though, maybe this show is just an updated version of Magic Island. If that's the case, the Black Rock is in the middle of the island because as it was coming out of hiding, the ship was all up in the island's grill. Noone can find it because it hides when people are in proximity.

That's the case with a lot of things on the island... Sort of like every place has its own will, and when it wants to be found it is, and when it doesn't, Locke gets angry, and so forth.

I second the whole constant thing. I love it, but in moderation.

Kind of like tequila.
