Dear Mr Fury,
First I want to thank you that you are one of these amazing people on Lost that take the time to read the fans stuff and even answer us!
My question is about the writing process. (I didn't see one about it, I hope I didn't overlook it and cause you to answer it twice)
I think that (maybe except for Go Fish ;)) episode written by you are great episodes! On Buffy, Angel and definitely on Lost!
I'm wondering how you get to writing an episode. What do you already have and what do you need to finish. What makes it that 'you' wrote the episode and not you and ... and ... and ... Do you actually write it all yourself?
I've heard many times that on Buffy & Angel Josh writes many scenes for many episodes that aren't written by him. (Like him writing all Illyria scenes (or were that just the ones in Underneath?). Anyways, How does that usually work?
Do you get a general storyline and all freedom to write whatever it is you think is right? Or is the plot in many lines already drawn out for you and do you only need to write the dialogs?
I must say that the dialogs on your episodes are great and I totally loved The Walkabout and Numbers. The extra touch of the 'weirdness' around some scenes, that's just great!
Last questions: Do writers actually look around the internet and read the fans comments on episodes and storylines? And if so, do they ever use them? I know that for instance with Buffy we (fans) all were pretty upset in the seventh season that a writer had Buffy say: "My death will bring the new slayer..." (don't need to explain to you why I think ;))
Again thank you so much for taking the time to read this and answer (even if it's really short :))!
Be well, Rosely
